Ready for take-off at the Bunny Hop on El Paseo!

The Bunny Hop was a HUGE Success!Looking down El PaseoThe El Paseo Bunny Hop 5k was held March 31st Easter Sunday morning. The weather was perfect for runners, walkers and even a few bunny hoppers to come out to beautiful El Paseo in Palm Desert and start their Easter with a fast and fun 5k. Over 350 runners seemed to really enjoy the fast and flat course which looped around the upscale shops on picturesque El Paseo adorned with manicured gardens and sculpted art. Vic Gainer of Palm Springs Track Club and Cathy Romero of Family Services of the Desert worked tirelessly to make this inaugural event a success. A very special thanks to the over 25 volunteers, without your help there would not have been an event. 


The El Paseo Bunny Hop 5k raised much need funds for Family Services of the Desert and Food Now. FSOD has been providing quality mental health and family support counseling services from our offices in Blythe, Indio and Desert Hot Springs for over 53 years. Our food pantry Food Now assist over 550 families a week who struggle with food insecurity.
El Paseo Shops joined in for the good cause! El Paseo's streets were decorated on the bright early Easter.

June 3rd, Food Now’s annual golf tournament at Mission Lakes Country Club!

7:30am Shot Gun Start!This exciting event benefits us here at Food Now and Family Servicesof the Desert , with contestants from all over the desert and beyond. Tickets are $75 per person, and includes a breakfast, lunch golf cart and goodie bag!

The check-in and brekfast starts at 6:30am, with a 7:30am Shot Gun Start. Lunch will be at 12:30 pm.

There will be $10,000, with 5k to Food Now and 5k to YOU!

You’ll be able to sign up here at Food Now’s website soon! Or at Mission Lakes C.C. Pro-Shop.

All day Saturday, March 30th, join us at California Pizza Kitchen at 73-080 El Paseo, and 20% of your check will be donated to us and Family Services of the Desert. Just bring this flyer and present it to your server, make any dine-in, take-out, catering or beverage purchase, and we will get the support!

Then join us the next day on Easter Sunday to run it all off! The Palm Springs track club will be hosting the Bunny Hop, a 5k run/walk (That’s 3.1 miles) starting at 7:30am. It all starts at the New Balance store at 73-399 El Paseo. Be sure to bring a flyer!

That’s not where it stops. During NASCAR races, they offer FREE food for the public, with an optional donation to us at Food Now.

So far, within  a week’s time, they have already donated approximately $500 to us here.   Very good for brand new ownership!   Thank you Escapade for your generosity.  We encourage all of the public to stop by and show them support!
